Hi,
We had to drain the system in order to replace the thermostatic blending valve, but when we turned the water back on and tested the system, we discovered an air lock. The lock is in the pipe directly below the hot water pump for the central heating, and although the hot water can get for the pump, the pipe below is still cold. As it's the 155, it doesn't have the AAV so we can't release the lock from the boiler. We've tried having the drain open with the boiler on to push out the air lock, and we've tried releasing the air lock by slightly opening and releasing the air in the water pump. The boiler will ignite and stay on long enough to heat up water to fill the tank, but it then overfills and comes out via the overflow, and the pilot light then goes out. How can we release the air lock?
