Hi,
First of all, thanks for the website, the content is very good. I have a problem which I don't think is quite covered on the common problems page.
Our boiler will only work when it has not been in use for 3-4 hours. So, using the timer, we have hot water and heating in the mornings (8am) and then at 6pm. However, we are then unable to get any hot water or heating for at least 3 hours. Each time we try to turn the boiler on it locks out.
Any help, or suggestions would be appreciated. I'd also welcome any comments on when is the best time to replace - we've not spent much on repairs so far!
The boiler is about 12 years old.

I bet your question is old now and you might have sorted it out since ? I had the same problem and it appeared that each time it was the PCB faulty. It happened to me 2 or 3 times over 3 years I used new part for it and then reconditioned as I had one in stock. Now I am relocating the boiler and the old one which is working perfectly since XMas is for sale or parts. I even have a reconditioned PCB in stock (in case) I have put it on eBay N° 183926910202 and it is available for viewing working.
