I am looking for an engineer to service my 11 year old powermax boiler. Mike would be ideal but as he lives in Reading I pay for substantial travel time. Do you know of anyone in the Nottingham area who services these boilers?

Hi, did you manage to find an engineer to service your boiler in the Nottingham area? I am also searching for one in that area.
If you could give details, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.

Hi, not sure if you have found anybody yet. After 10 years employment I have just finished working as an engineer for Baxi Group, the company now responsible for the Range Powermax. I have experience of working on these boilers (repairs and servicing) and I may be able to help you. I live in Arnold, Nottingham and Ive just started my own business. If you still need help I am happy to provide my contact information, alternatively you can track me down with my business name (Ignis Heating) at the Gas Safe web site. Im also in the November/December 2013 edition of the NG5 magazine.
Regards Martyn.

I have a Baxi technician coming to look at my Powermax 155x FSS tomorrow. The cost of their fixed price repair is - I think they said, £390. It covers the cost of repairs up to a maximum of £1500, guaranteed for a year.
In the past I've had the system serviced by British Gas etc. and don't believe it has EVER been serviced as it is supposed to be... I'm hoping the makers technician will not only clear the present fault, but also give it a proper going-over!

Sadly, our boiler has been condemned as unsafe.
Leaking flue gases from the base of the boiler, and no flue or gasket parts are still available.... Groan.
Oh well, better than waking up dead from carbon monoxide poisoning. Looking at Wordester Bosch and Vailant combi boilers.
