Hi just moved into a new house and the boiler keeps locking out with the error A02. But this resets and it will be ok for a few days and then it will do it again. Does anybody have any ideas as the manual just says press the reset. I am an automotive engineer so more than able to replace parts so any help would be great.

Interesting. None of my manuals shows A02 as an error. Does yours? What does it say the fault is? (Other than the need to press 'reset')?

Hi A02 just says "system response fault. Open rad valves and reset. If persists call a engineer". This only comes up now an again and only at the start of the cycle. We had a potterton engineer here to carry out a recall on the flue and he said its probably the igniter but to replace the whole igniter system not just the prob. I am not sure because as soon as you reset it lights straight away. Any advise would be great because we both know it isn't going to get any better.
thanks

Replacing the control board seems to fix most intermittent problems like this on a Powermax HE. Expensive though, and a risk as it my not fix it!
I'd consider changing it for a better designed boiler if I were you actually. All Powermax models are prone to repeated expensive failures.
