Hi i have a powermax 155 which came with the house purchase. I think it is as old as the house, about 20 years, but can't be certain.
i have two issues, firstly it cuts out several times a day. We reset it by pressing the small red reset button in the top left corner. I think that is what it is anyway. This is a pain and the frequency of it cutting out is increasing.
the second issue, is when running a bath, the hot water runs out too soon. We only get enough water to bath a budgie in :-)
are these issues fixable or given its probable age, would you recommend a new boiler?
many thanks for your great resource. Steve

I can't be certain, but from the symptoms you describe I suspect the heat exchanger pump is failing and not fully circulating hot water within the boiler, which then overheats (this is the single-speed pump located at the lower right of the boiler casing, not the central heating pump at top left). They can still be obtained, although you're probably looking at around £350 to supply and fit one. Cheaper than a new boiler though!
