Hi everyone, my first post...
I have a Powermax 155x which has a leaky flow switch. I've seen a few posts which suggest that a 14mm ID x 4mm thick Nitrile rubber O ring stands a good chance of solving the problem.
It looks fairly straight forward to undo the switch and presumably rake out the old O ring and replace it with a new one but I know that the devil is in the detail and that these are tricky boilers so my question is:
What is the procedure for replacing the O ring? And are any special tools needed? I'm concerned about the 18L pressure vessel and how much draining down needs to be done.
Thanks in anticipation

The nitrile o ring was my suggestion, I've done a couple of mine. The flow switch sits in the flow of cold mains water going to the heat exchanger to get warmed up to become hot water, so the water you are dealing with is cold mains water not water in the sealed side of the boiler where the expansion vessel is. So you'll need to find your house stop cock, under the kitchen sink or wherever and turn it off, and then open hot and cold taps to basins and bath and kitchen sink. There should then be no water coming out of the taps. Then grab some towels and a bowl and slowly remove the ring securing the flow switch. Note orientation of switch before starting, then go ahead and replace the washer with o-ring. I have found the body of the switch to be a bit crumbly around the edges but they have held up ok.

That's a great help. Thanks.
The boiler is in my partner's flat in Edinburgh and I'll be going there in a couple of weeks at which time I'll have a go.
I'll post back here with my outcome :-)
I was concerned about pressurised hot water and system pressure issues so thanks again for your input.
