Hi , I had to replace leaking isolation valve from below the hot water pump. We didn't know how to drain the system so we isolated the cold water supply and drained it off via the leak! We have since refilled the system but I think there is air stopping the boiler from starting. How do I vent off air from this boiler please? we have vented the rads.

Hi kklove,
Disclaimer: I'm not an expert and have only found this forum because I'm also having issues with my 155x!
When you say hot water pump do you mean the pump at the bottom right as you look at the boiler? If so, my understanding is that this hot water loop is effectively external to the boiler itself, with heat being transferred from the thermal store to the hot water in the external plate heat exchanger. As a result, I'm not sure you'll have to "vent air from the boiler", instead you may have to vent air from a joint at the highest point in this loop.
What are the symptoms of your boiler issue?

kklove, the hot water pump does in fact circulate water within the boiler's thermal store. I'm not sure how any airlocks are dealt with in an open-vented system; for a sealed system, there is some guidance on page 6 here: www.powermax-repairs.co.uk/Powermax%20user%20instructions.pdfthis may also apply in part to an open system.
