Mike.
I am a plumber and service engineer who usually avoids these appliances unless I'm removing one to a skip. I've read your notes on this unusual high pitched and very loud noise. Have you any further info on exactly what you think it might be. Gas analysis was Ok at last check by another engineer back in december. Ive not check it myself yet and must admit to being hesitant as previous experience suggests these are not easy gas valves to get right. I would like to become more familiar with all these boilers as there's many of them still around.
Any advice appreciated

Ray,
Setting up the offset value correctly on the gas valve sometimes fixes the scream. If is correct in the first place a new burner head always fixes it in my experience.
