Hi Mike
I probably know what the answers going to be but here goes.
There is a water leak in the dry pocket that houses the DHW sensor on an HE115. Is it possible to replace the cylinder on these or would the cost/hassle be prohibitive? The problem is we are on the second floor of a block of flats with the twin flue option fitted through a loft area with no access into it. The loft space construction is non standard in that there are hardly any supporting beams to utilise meaning even if we managed to get into the void there is nothing to stand on. If we could replace the cylinder, even though it would be a major undertaking, I'd rather that than remove ceilings to put a new flue system in. By the way we have no outside wall close to the boiler in it's current position. Any advice appreciated. Regards David

David,
The hot water cylinder is a separate componemt from the boiler bodule on top and can be changed if you can obtain a new one. Potterton probably still sell it as a spare part or you could probably find a second hand one on ebay sooner or later. Fitting it is straightforward if time consuming as the boiler module has to be disconnected and removed first.
An associated problem though is the flue. The boiler cannot be safety checked without access to the flue so even now it is classed as "At Risk" and you shouldn't use it. Access to visually inspect the flue is essential. Google 'flues in voids' for acres or information about this serious safety risk.
