Hello this is my first post I have inherited a Powermax 155 which I be live is about 15 years old I have had it for 10 years. Recently it has been losing water and the occasional lockout I have cured by topping up with water and it was worked but continued to lose water. On Saturday it locked out but will not restart. I have checked your excellent websiteand reading the common lockout problems I was looking at the water level switch and was all set to buy one. However after further reading I have read that if it has continuity after a lockout to try something else. Do you have any suggestions, the AAV was loosened but no air released. The other concern is the water top up loop does not allow water to enter is this related to the fault. The pressure is 2 bar so seems OK. Long term I am resigning myself to replacement boiler but would like to get it going while I plan replacement. Many thanks for any help.

Raym,
Tricky. The 'occasional lockout' is usually the gas valve being out of adjustment. I doubt it is related to the system pressure as you say there is continuity across the level switch. It probably needs servicing by someone who understands how to set up the gas valve...
