Hi there mike, I hope you can shed some light on our powermax 155 issues. I'm a tenant and I know our powermax is quite old and has had quite a bit of time and money spent on it already although I'm not sure of its history. Currently, it fires up when it feels like it and warms the house to an absolute max of 23 degrees but more often it's about 20 degrees. It then shuts off and the temperature dips right back down again for a couple of hours again before it then fires up again. It is therefore cool more than it is warm:(. The hot water is not that hot either, unless it is run on a dribble: certainly as soon as it is turned on with any degree of gentle force, it becomes lukewarm. The radiators never get really hot and they are warm at the top and cool at the bottom. The pressure is fine, the rads are all bled and I am flummoxed. My landlord is going to replace the old thermostat in the hall but could that be the problem? It's always turned up to 30 degrees but as I mentioned earlier, the actual room temp is a max of 22/23 degrees: turning it up does not kick the boiler into firing up. Any ideas Mike? The boiler is situated in the airing cupboard in the bathroom.
