Hi,
Yesterday my boiler (Powermax 185) seems to have packed in. I can still get hot water but the CH won't come on.
- The orange mains light is on but the 2x red lights on the programmer seem to be dimmer than before.
- When I switch it to constant HW, it takes a few seconds for the burner to come on. This didn't happen before, it would be instant
- The thermostat seems to be fine, as I can hear it click as I turn it, like it did before.
The only thing I can think of is that it was caused by the power cut we had yesterday, which lasted for about 1hr.
Any suggestions but would appreciated.

I've since found this on another site, which is in reply to my problem: "If the lights are dim or out on the clock it is that which will need replacing, part P458"

Yes this will be the problem. Programmer failure.
Also associated with power isolation. They commonly fail when the power is restored after turning OFF the boiler isolator switch on the wall for routine maintenance. A power cut would have the same effect.

Thanks Mike,
How easy is a pragrammer to replace. Is this is a simple DIY job or am I going to need to call someone out?
