Hi everyone, hope anyone can help with my problem.
I have Powermax 155x boiler and it's gone on lockout orange light, I switched it off and on and the green light went on for a second and cut off again, when I tried again after 10 seconds I can hear small clicking near gas valve, and goes straight to lockout, it's not the usual clicking sound when attempting to ignite the burner, it's much less faint.
Any help would be appreciated, is there a way to reset the whole thing?
Thank you

cooler, it could be the electrode that's failed (rather like a spark plus, to ignite the gas). I suggest you really need an engineer to investigate.

Thanks northpole for quick reply, I also narrowed it down to solenoid or electrode.
Could electrode be replaced/fixed without removing the valve? Or does whole of valve needs removing first?
Even though am fairly competent myself, I'll get someone to take a look but I don't want them to replace whole of the Valve if it can be fixed/repaired.
Thanks again.

Well outside my comfort zone, I'm afraid - and I would also advise against doing anything around the gas supply unless you have the necessary training and a gas work certificate. Not only might it well be illegal, but you could end up causing an explosion! Call in a qualified engineer would be my advice.

Update: I had called a gas safe guy, the fan had been running in lock-out state when he switched it off and on it fired up and worked, he told me nothing wrong with it and left, after he left it attempted to switch on and it's back to same lockout state.
I switch everything off to remove the electrode and clean it, but it seems stuck? I've opened the 2 screws on either side but it's not poping-out?
Is there a method to pulling it out? or has something accumulated on it's underside?
Thanks

Update2: Called gas-safe guy back and this time he told it was gas valve that needed replacing, he opened the outlet pipe and no gas was coming through it, when switched on.
I have gone and ordered the valve of ebay used but claiming to be from a working boiler, but the problem is the same no gas on the outlet when attempting to switch on, he now tells me the replacement valve is also not working. But I think he does not have a clue, and I have decided to investigate things further myself and not incur anymore charges.
Any help would be appreciated as to what to try next? I am not gona call anyone out anymore I'd rather replace the boiler all together.
Thanks

I don't think the problem is with gas valve as suggested by gas safe guy, I've just measured amp going through when it's attempting to ignite the boiler and it's drawing about 0.01 to 0.04 max, is this ok or should it be at least 1.00? What amperage does this gas valve need to run?

Final update: The gas-safe guy had no idea and just made me spend on buying a new valve when the fault was something else.
Thanks to northpole in providing me with a real professional with this boiler and also my own deduction and fault finding, the fault was water level switch in vessel where PRV goes in, thus cutting power to the gas valve.
As you can see in my last post the amp was too low and voltage was flashing under 100 volts ac, but the G1 Pin had 250 volts and 1 amp power, so the gas valve needs more than 200 volts min. and 1 amp to run properly.
Just to test this and make sure it was the switch, I then bypassed the switch by removing + pin of the valve and inserting it in G1 pin to see, and it fired up fine after a while it took time to get the gas in the chamber, this was only done once to test the theory as it should not be done to run the appliance and safety switch is there for a very important reason.
Hope this now helps someone else.
P.S I now have an extra gas valve for this boiler if anyone else needs it.
