Hi all. I have what appears to be an unusual situation. The 155x is 15 years old never had a problem with it. Recently the expansion vessel failed and caused a lockout so I had it replaced. Following this we were having trouble getti g her to fire and the lock out was permanent. I contacted heat team as my engineer was not familiar and advised me to get specialist help. In all fairness the heat team service has been excellent and virtually all the components have been replaced. Including over pressure valve, heat exchange, circulation pump, pcb and gate valve.
So the problem. With the boiler switched on there is plenty of heat in the radiators and water is as hot as it has always been. However if we fill up the bath and demand lots of hot water the pressure in the boiler zeros out. Once we have stopped pulling water through, slowly the pressure returns. It was this symptom that persuaded them to change the heat exchange which is external on my boiler.
Any thoughts or advice would be very welcome and much appreciated.
Thanks for looking
Matt.

mattaff - silly question perhaps, but did the engineer who replaced the expansion vessel actually pressure it up? There should be 0.6 to 0.7 bar pressure on the 'dry' side of the membrane inside.
If you're anywhere within reasonable reach of Hemel Hempstead, PM me and I can send you contact details of a Powermax specialist based there.
