Hi, I'm wanting some advice, my father in law came round to fit us a towel radiator, anyway he turned off the water and the mains to the boiler and took off the radiator pipe to drain it. About 20 buckets of water later and it had still not drained so he decided to do the change whilst it was still leaking. Anyway once the radiator was finished he then went to bleed the valves on the radiator but with no joy, no air was coming out of the bleed screw.
To cut a long story short we've now tried fully flushing the system and fully cleaned the header tank but the only way we can get the pressure in the system is to connect a hose pipe to the main drain on the downstairs radiator and reverse pressurise the system.
the problem we have is the hot water works but the heating doesn't. The fan spins but that's about it.
any help would be much appreciated as my father in law is now saying my only option is to replace the full system, I really don't want to do this because the boiler was absolutely perfect before hand.

Hard to know what to suggest given he appears to have successfully refilled the system from the drain point.
Sounds to me as though the CH pump is air-locked. We know all the gas parts are working correctly as you say you have hot water.
Or it could be a failed programmer. They tend to fail when the power is turned OFF to a powermax.
